nos referimos a \u00e9l.<\/p><p>La versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s extendida cuenta que un monje de El Bierzo (Le\u00f3n, Espa\u00f1a), que durante la Edad Media recorri\u00f3 el mundo, descubri\u00f3 este postre en un monasterio egipcio y lo trajo de vuelta, llam\u00e1ndolo \u201cBrazo egipciano\u201d, nombre que con el paso del tiempo ha ido derivando en el actual \u201cBrazo de gitano\u201d.<\/p><p>Otra teor\u00eda, ratificada por el gremio de pasteleros de Barcelona, afirma que su nombre deriva directamente de los caldereros, trabajadores que se dedicaban a arreglar los utensilios de hierro o cobre, como ollas, calderos, cazos y dem\u00e1s utensilios, y que en su mayor\u00eda eran de etnia gitana. Desde principios del siglo XIX y primera mitad del XX, eran conocidos por recorrer las pasteler\u00edas de Barcelona ofreciendo sus servicios, por los cuales recib\u00edan como recompensa recortes sobrantes de bizcocho. Y otra teor\u00eda similar es la que dice que su nombre deriva de las mangas de las blusas de las mujeres de etnia gitana, ya que cuando se preparaba con fruta escarchada y merengue decorativo, recordaba a esas blusas tan caracter\u00edsticas. Por eso mismo muchos los conocen tambi\u00e9n como \u2018manga
